Simplicity

So, I'm participating in The Scent of Water's Simplicity themed photo swap even though my new camera still has not come in. Curses on J&R!
There are so many things I like about this swap. It's so very interesting to me to take a word and conceptualize it. You don't realize how you summarize language and internalize it. I tend to almost start to look at the world in word association terms initially. You start to narrow your world view into just what's simple, to you, that is. Once you start to think in these terms, the world becomes a different place and simplicity begins to take on new meaning. All of a sudden it is everywhere around you which evokes a good feeling. Simplicity is what I want to be surrounded by. Complexity, while quite meritorious, is less me. I like the little things. The things we walk by each day and take for granted. The things we really shouldn't overlook, and when we do notice them their beauty is immediately evident.
So, these were just a few from my very first run, just starting to think about what I see as simplicity. I like to see the progression of my thought process as realized through the images. I am also hoping that "assignments" like these will also help to improve the technical aspects of my photos along the way.

These are great - it is amazing how much you can see the simple things when you look, isn't it?
